HELSINKI, August 13, 2018 – Rightware, the leading provider of automotive user interface software, announced today the appointment of Ville Ilves as CEO. Current CEO Jonas Geust will transition to the role of board member, while taking on a new leadership role outside the automotive industry.
Ilves has led Rightware’s operations as COO since 2010, and he built up the company’s US operations starting in 2014. He is a seasoned international executive with significant experience running sales and operations for software companies. Before Rightware, he served in executive positions in Europe and USA building new business around cutting-edge software solutions at NetHawk, 7signal, and APL Systems. Ville also holds an Executive MBA.
“Jonas led Rightware to profitability and strong growth. Rightware was recently ranked the eighth fastest-growing ICT firm in Finland, with revenues up 91% in 2017,” said Ilves. “With a market-leading position, an extremely talented team, and backing from our parent company Thundersoft, I look forward to expanding our product and service businesses even further with new customers and new market segments.”
“After a careful executive search, Ville emerged as the clear choice to take the helm at Rightware,” said Geust. “He has been with the company since its formation, he knows the business inside and out, and he knows all of our customers personally. I have the highest confidence in Ville’s ability to maintain business continuity while driving this company through its next phase of growth.”
“Jonas led Rightware from an early-stage startup to its successful acquisition by Thundersoft,” said Larry Geng, Chairman of the Board of Rightware and Executive President and co-founder of Thunder Software Co. Ltd. “We are grateful for his extensive contributions to the company, and we are delighted to continue working with him as a member of the Rightware board.
