Kanzi UI software by Rightware instrumental in designing two ‘10 Best UX’ winners

 NOVI, MI, October 3, 2018 – Rightware announced that its Kanzi® UI software powers the digital instrument clusters in two vehicles chosen by WardsAuto for its 2018 “10 Best UX” list.

Cockpit electronics supplier Visteon Corporation, using the Kanzi UI software framework by Rightware, developed the instrument clusters for the award-winning 2018 Ford Mustang and 2018 Lincoln Navigator. The vehicles were honored Oct. 2 during a ceremony at the 2018 WardsAuto User Experience Conference in Novi, Mich.

The annual awards are presented by WardsAuto editors to honor “new vehicles for their driver-assistance technologies, connectivity, digital displays, voice-activation systems, intuitive controls and infotainment.”

Kanzi UI enables rapid design and development of user interfaces for the automotive industry. The Kanzi software toolchain provides car manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, and design studios an efficient and agile approach for creating UIs for digital instrument clusters, infotainment systems, head-up displays (HUDs), and more. With its agile workflow and modular architecture, Kanzi enables rapid prototyping and iteration, and accelerates HMI development by allowing UI designers and engineers to work in parallel with minimal cross-dependencies.

Kanzi UI helped enable Visteon to create a modern look for the Mustang’s instrument cluster without losing the muscle car’s historic appearance. Similarly, Rightware’s technology helped define the customizable and cohesive IP cluster in the Lincoln Navigator, to differentiate the brand from clusters in competing vehicles for the second consecutive year.

WardsAuto editors, who evaluated and scored 25 vehicles available in the U.S. with all-new or re-engineered UX features, such as display screens, interfaces or apps, said the Mustang GT “wows us with … with its trick electronics and alluring gauges.” They were similarly captivated by the Navigator’s information displays.
