NOVI, MI, June 6, 2018 – Rightware debuted a digital dashboard demonstration at the 2018 TU-Automotive conference that showcased the 2018 Ford Mustang, the first in-segment, mass-market sports car to feature a fully digital instrument cluster powered by Rightware’s Kanzi.

This software enables automotive designers and engineers to create functional and beautiful user interfaces (UI) for vehicles. An efficient and agile “out-of-the-box” software tool, Kanzi gives designers full control, with visual tools that enable rapid prototyping and a seamless transition to production. It allows designers to focus on creativity rather than coding, making the development process far faster and more efficient than other design software.

Key Features:

  • Kanzi powers an optional 12-inch LCD panel that introduces a new level of engagement to enthusiasts. The interactive UI enables the driver to control what is shown on the instrument panel, choose the gauge layout, and tailor each selectable drive mode—normal, sport, and track—to get the most out of their driving experience.
  • It enables Ford to deliver a modern look for the Mustang’s instrument cluster without losing the muscle car’s historic appearance.
  • The Kanzi UI workflow puts designers first, as evidenced by the beautiful graphics in the 2018 Ford Mustang. Its intuitive architecture allows for efficient development and easy configurability across cars and automotive platforms.
  • Kanzi enables rapid design and development of user interfaces for the automotive industry. Kanzi UI design software provides car manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, and design studios an efficient and agile approach for creating UIs for digital instrument clusters, infotainment systems, head-up displays (HUDs), and more. With its agile workflow and modular architecture, Kanzi accelerates UI design by allowing designers and engineers to work independently and in parallel.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Mustang story as Ford takes this iconic car into the future,” said Rightware CEO Jonas Geust. “We share with the Mustang team a passion for high performance brought to life in an enticing product. The digital dashboard enhances the Mustang experience. It’s modern while staying true to the Mustang’s lineage.”

In addition to the digital cluster demonstration, Rightware showcased the Kanzi UI and Kanzi Connect workflow which accelerates complex HMI projects, as well as the new plug-ins Kanzi Maps to integrate mapping applications into the automotive UI and visual brand identity and Kanzi Particles to enable development of stunning graphical effects with no coding.
