Rightware Divests Benchmarking Business

May 7, 2015

Rightware, leading provider of user interface solutions, has on May 1st divested its benchmarking business to Basemark Ltd. Rightware will continue to focus extending its world leading position in automotive HMI solutions.

Over the last few years, Rightware has successfully built a significant business around the Kanzi UI solution in the automotive industry. Now with more than 10 car OEMs taking Kanzi into production cars and a significant number of Tier 1s using Kanzi as their preferred HMI solution, Rightware is rapidly approaching its target of over 30% market share in the automotive industry. “In order to further focus the company around our targets in the user interface business, Rightware has decided to divest its benchmarking business via a management buyout arrangement to Basemark Ltd” said Jonas Geust, CEO of Rightware.

All Rightware’s existing benchmark IP, licensing rights, trademarks and maintenance contracts have been transferred to the recently established Basemark Ltd. “To all of our worldwide benchmark customers this is great news as it secures the benchmark business in long term and it will be a seamless transition. I’m excited about the new venture and we have many great new products coming out” said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Basemark Ltd.
