Rightware launches Basemark® ES 2.0 – successor of the world famous 3DMark® Mobile ES 2.0
ESPOO, Finland – May 19, 2011 – Rightware, the leader in 3D user interface technology, today announced the release of Basemark® ES 2.0, the most compelling benchmark product to enable objective benchmarking of smartphones, tablets and other embedded devices. Having a long legacy of OpenGL ES 2.0 benchmarking products, Rightware’s latest Basemark ES 2.0 enables device manufacturers, semiconductor companies and operators to measure a holistic performance of the different hardware platforms using OpenGL ES 2.0.
As Basemark ES 2.0 has been developed in close cooperation with world’s leading semiconductor companies and mobile phone manufacturers, it provides scientifically studied, reliable test cases to test the 3D graphics performance of mobile 3D hardware. High-detail 3D content generates workloads that tax OpenGL ES 2.0 3D hardware in a realistic, visually stunning way and provided tests add value in benchmarking of high-definition graphics and graphic acceleration. Basemark ES 2.0 also enables Image Quality Testing with its capability of saving default frames from both game tests - Taiji and Hover - in image files that are then comparable with the images provided by the benchmark.
"Today, it’s all about differentiation in mobile devices, and performance of the user interface can be seen as a significant differentiator as graphical content becomes more complex and visually rich. We’re happy to announce the Basemark ES 2.0 to tackle many of challenges our customers face today,” said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Rightware. “Basemark ES 2.0 is the tool for device manufacturers who want to ensure that they choose the right silicon and build their device only with the best hardware. Also, the semiconductor companies can discover in the earliest phase of development potential user interface-related problems before hitting the market,” continued Tero Sarkkinen.
Basemark ES 2.0 is available for licensing as source code and binary version.
