Rightware introduces Basemark™ GUI to enable creation of faster user interface systems
ESPOO, Finland -- December 28, 2010 – Rightware, the leader in 3D user interface technology, today announced a new product – Basemark™ GUI – to enable objective benchmarking of user interface performance of smartphones, pads, and other embedded devices. Basemark GUI enables operators, device manufacturers and semiconductor companies to measure a holistic system performance of user interfaces in all stages of the product development.
Basemark GUI provides scientifically studied, reliable test cases to give its users a confidence in their hardware performance analysis. In order to ensure that the product also meets the stringent requirements of the industry, Rightware have developed the product in close cooperation with world’s leading mobile phone and semiconductor companies.
The benchmark tests enabled by Basemark GUI generate OpenGL ES 1.1 and 2.0 workloads that tax the graphics system in a realistic and visually stunning way. The Basemark GUI product lends itself to hardware manufacturers as an essential tool to analyze platform capability of the user interface applications that use visually compelling 3D graphics.
“The graphics performance of a smartphone, pad, or other embedded system has probably never mattered as much as it does today. The user interface has become the focal point of differentiation as consumers tend to judge the goodness of a product based on how the user interface works in these devices,” said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Rightware. “Basemark GUI is the tool for device manufacturers who want to ensure that they choose the right chips and build their device only with the top-notch user interface software. We’re proud to bring Basemark GUI in to the front row of embedded industry to help tackling these challenges and enable the device manufacturers to introduce even better performing 3D user interfaces in their devices,” continued Mr. Sarkkinen.
Basemark GUI is available for licensing as source code and binary version.
