    Sr Test Engineer – Kanzi Connect

    Do you have software developer competences but with a testing attitude? Are you curious what the Connected Car is all about? If you are interested in a dual development/testing role where you get to work closely with the whole system behind Kanzi Connect for automotive customers, and actually influence how to develop it, read on..

    Rightware, a software and design company headquartered in Helsinki with locations in Silicon Valley, Munich, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Detroit and soon Italy and France, is expanding our Headquarters R&D! Our flagship product is Kanzi, the world’s leading User Interface design and engineering solution for the automotive industry. With the combination of a design studio and a powerful graphics engine, Kanzi enables the rapid deployment of user interfaces and Human-Machine Interfaces with high-fidelity realtime 2D and 3D graphics. Kanzi is endorsed and used globally/exclusively by top industry players that include companies like Audi, Visteon and over a dozen other premium car brands.     One of our newest products in the Kanzi family is a revolutionary data connection software technology for cars called Kanzi Connect. This product enables car companies to seamlessly plug in data from any source (ADAS, CAN, media, cloud, etc) to the HMI and to feed the data in synchronization to any number of displays in the car, thus making sure that the driver has immediate access to the right data at any time.

    In this new testing role, you will help pioneer development and testing of this distributed system as we continue building the next level of a true Connect Car Experience.

    Your day to day work will include:

    – Developing test strategy, test plan and automated test cases for Kanzi Connect

    – Integrating and setting up Kanzi Connect SW and different services in the automotive target HWs

    – Integrating and setting up different mobile devices and services

    – Managing Kanzi Connect CI setup (Jenkins)

    – Participation of the Kanzi Connect development from the testability and system integration point of view

    Requirements:

    -Understanding of distributed computing and parallelization (Client / Server, Peer-to-peer, RPC, IPC, Threading)

    -Knowledge of Network protocols (Sockets, TCP-IP, HTTP, REST, Wireless communication protocols, Bluetooth etc)

    -Ability to understand how to set up a functional test environment for a distributed system (test the whole system on a higher level, validate the interaction between components; verify that the outcome of all components combined together is as expected)

    -Ability to understand performance bottlenecks and measure performance (things like measuring loopback time of an RPC call; or measuring maximum transfer amount of concurrent data in system)

    -Understanding of continuous integration systems (Jenkins; ability to maintain project jobs in CI system)

    -Development support and test automation (C++, ability to help in setting up per-platform builds, avoid manual work and catch regression issues, experience with embedded HW)

    -Great English skills!

If you know how to get performance and security out of RPC (Remote Procedure Call) while avoiding the usual pitfalls there, we have the perfect role for you..

    In this new Connectivity Expert role, you will pioneer development of this distributed system as we continue building the next level of a true Connected Car Experience.

    Your day to day work include:

    -Improve and extend networking features by adding support for new protocol or network adapter types, adding support for data encryption

    -Improve and extend connectivity features by adding support for client policy/permission management, and adding support for automatic client / server discovery

    -Add / integrate new services to our system by integrating (for example) a media player service of a specific platform and building a new service from scratch that enable support for personalization, etc

    Requirements:

    -Programming (C++, STL/Boost, Cross platform development)

    -Knowledge of distributed computing and parallelization (Client / Server, Peer-to-peer, RPC, IPC, Threading)

    -Knowledge of Network protocols (Sockets, TCP-IP, HTTP, REST, Wireless communication protocols, Bluetooth etc)

    -Knowledge of network security and robustness features (Client authentication, data encryption, profiling / network traffic optimization, error / fault management)

    -Integration of connected services (understanding what is a service component as opposed to Client component and what are their responsibilities; integrating platform features as connected network services)

    -Knowledge of content management (Databases and queries, SQL etc, distributed content system, content server/content provider)

    Sales Engineer – Detroit area

    So, to complement our already strong sales presence in Detroit and elsewhere in the US, we are looking for someone to join our ranks to become our sales engineering expert! This work has to do with you getting to know our Kanzi Studio (a pretty amazing UI design tool), so you can conduct a few presentations per week with customers, and talk the talk when it comes to our technology (all from a sales perspective, naturally). We’ll give you the chance to learn Kanzi of course, including a possible trip to Finland to get to know everyone there, giving you the chance to play around with Kanzi until you are comfortable enough explaining its’ benefits (with hands on demonstrations of course) to our clientele.

    You will earn a competitive base salary plus results-based commission package, company car, all the bells and whistles and benefits that come with a solid software company. We already have relationships with the Big 3 in Detroit so this is not a cold calling job…….however you should be ready to do whatever it takes to deliver results by farming or hunting. Here is what we need in you:

    Profile:

    -Education or background in embedded and/or SW Engineering

    -You are interested in technology and have a good general understanding of software and embedded development

    -You are extroverted, have a dynamic personality, patient, good at building relationships with technical people

    -Your communication skills enable you to explain even complicated technical matters to your grandmother in a way that she immediately understands the point

    -You are confident and fearless when it comes to talking with key decision makers

    -You understand the value of real customer service, willing to do what it takes to close deals

    Willingness to travel locally and to California occasionally, possibly a couple times to Europe

    You may also have experience with some of the following:

    -Graphics UI development and UI frameworks

    -Design Content Creation tools such as Photoshop, 3DSMax, Maya, Softimage

    -Unity, Adobe After Effects, Qt Creator

    -Game development

    -You are interested in the automotive sector!

    SW Engineer for Recent Graduate or Current Student

    We are always on the lookout for a talented engineer who is sharp, witty, and potentially top caliber at programming. C and C++ is key here! But you can also have wizard like abilities in graphics APIs, OpenGL/ES, DirectX, and qt, and absolutely if you have skills in UI framework component development! The point is that we are interested in finding young and ambitious coders who pride themselves on creating clean robust code, and who are fearless when it comes to learning new things and solving complex problems with vigor.

    Automotive UI Designer

    We are now looking for more talented Graphics/Visual Designers who can design and execute stunning UI concepts. You’ll work with a team of other Creatives, your challenge being to show next generation interactive graphics on mobile console and automotive User Interfaces. Your daily work will consist of creation of 2D and 3D graphics for UIs, such as mobile & media applications, in vehicle infotainment systems and digital clusters; basically everywhere you have a display nowadays (Automotive Cockpit UI, Gaming UI, HMI, Console UI, Media UI, Mobile UI). This is a real design job, not just drawing small pixels!

    We Require: 

    • Good eye for visual design
    • Previous work samples from graphics design
    • Good team working skills
    • Open minded approach
    • You understand the spirit (and principles) of design

    Not required but appreciated:

    • Previous experience from UI design
    • Motion graphics skills
    • Real-time graphics experience
    • 3D skills
    • Experience working with multiple content creation tools, such as 3DSMax, Cinema4D, Maya, Blender, Photoshop and after effects etc.
    • Illustration skills
